Blackout

Berlín, 1939

Scarrow, Simon

Berlin, 1939. It is a particularly cold winter, the streets are covered with snow and ice, and the din of war resounds in the distance. The Third Reich surrounds the city, and panic and paranoia increase among the population. Every night, during the constant nightly blackouts, Berlin is plunged into an oppressive and suffocating darkness and, in the shadows, a serial killer finds a free path for his targets. Inspector Horst Schenke's reputation is at stake. He has not agreed to join the Nazi party and now, finding the body of a brutally murdered young woman, he is forced to solve the case quickly and efficiently; otherwise, the consequences could be fatal. Schenke's worst fears are confirmed when a second victim appears: little by little, the investigation leads him into the deepest and darkest corridors of the regime. Danger lurks around every corner, and the various factions of the Reich, at odds with each other, can be as deadly as the assassin lurking in the streets...
