Texas, the year 2033. Black Deker and his partner Top Chop recover the Lady in the Dark, an old Mississippi steamboat patched up with remnants of war materiel. Scrap collectors by profession, they use the ship to salvage remains of battles fought in rivers and jungles of the new state. But Black Deker decides to accept an unusual assignment: to rescue the condemned A. Bierce, prisoner of the fearsome Colonel Snark, from the maximum security prison in China (Nuevo León).
