One of the many reasons for this book is to protest against this disappearance of Greco-Latin humanism, while showing, in a very personal dictionary, my passion for that world and many of its authors, trying to see (and it is not difficult) what they still have new, and splendid material to build the freest and most hedonistic future. To make this book, inviting and enjoyable looking, I have used multiple aids and many books, quite a few randomly quoted from each entry, but there are others that I do not cite, because this is a book of scholarly taste, but not academic. The author, an ardent neo-pagan, will be pleased if this Library of Classics for the Use of Moderns draws us new readers into a fascinating world, from beginning to end.
