Benvolguda

Remedios Durán is a prestigious cartoonist who considers herself an attractive lady in her early fifties, a very happy wife and mother. One afternoon, sitting in the back seat of the family car, she guesses, with perfect clarity, that her young husband, a regular violinist in an orchestra, will fall in love with the substitute violinist who accompanies them home to rehearse. The two of them still don't know. She does. Based on this devastating certainty, the novel's protagonist, a woman used to fighting for survival since she was a child, has no choice but to realize what it means to grow old inside, suddenly assuming the vulnerability of married love, the drug addiction of maternity and expiration of artistic life.
