Bambi

Bambi

història d'una vida del bosc

Salten, Felix

The most tear-jerking scene in children's cinema is on everyone's mind, the death of Bambi's mother. Actually, the original novel, the one you are holding, is about the life of a roe deer in the forest, and the loss of the mother is one more of the dangers that beset the animals. Bambi grows up and learns the secrets of nature, while also asking the big questions we all ask about ourselves, about life and death. But, in the forest, not everything is flowers and violets: the threat of the human figure, violent, feared and seen as inevitable, is omnipresent. Written in the interwar period, Bambi is also a poignant allegory about the forces of evil that hovered over the Jews and over Europe. That's why the Nazis, who had perfectly understood the role they played in it, banned it.
