Bajo la sombra de los lobos
Slepikas, Alvydas
With the end of World War II, the German women and children of East Prussia were left to fend for the victorious advance of the Red Army. In the middle of that terrible winter, the women tried to help each other, while some children dared to cross the forests and the border to reach Lithuania and, once there, ask the farmers for food or work and bring back what they got. Those children knew cruelty, violence, but also kindness and solidarity, even heroism. They called these children "the wolf-children".
