Badaq
Bardem, Carlos
1583. A badaq -or Indonesian rhinoceros- grazes peacefully on the island of Pawu. When a Castilian galleon arrives, the animal witnesses the relationships between colonizers and indigenous people and becomes a currency between them. They take her to Madrid, where her life will be in danger if she does not manage to escape a meaningless destiny. Around him, a web of interests and corruption is woven between unscrupulous politicians, greedy libertines and imperial deserters just when the greatest empire of Christendom is entering into decline.
