Aves extintas

Nia Imani is outside of space and time. Decades of interstellar travel condense into a few short months for her, but for everyone she has met the years have inexorably continued to roll by. Imani, captain of a transport ship hired by Umbrai, only lives for work until the day she meets a mysterious boy who has fallen from the sky. The boy is traumatized by his past and lives tormented by the present, since he is one of the few human beings born with the gift of Leap, the ability to instantly travel between any two points in space. This ability threatens the control that companies like Umbrai have over inhabited worlds. Fumiko Nakajima, the scientist extraordinaire who designed the bird-inspired stations that Umbrai uses to control vast sections of space, has been searching for someone like him for a thousand years. Together, Imani and Nakajima will try to protect the boy in a journey that will last for decades and will take them to the ends of inhabited space, several light years away, where the laws of civilization do not apply. And while that adventure lasts, they can only trust each other.
