The high school philosophy course has been conceived as a history of thought that includes a wide and complex collection of theories, interpretations of the world, reflections on knowledge, on history, on language, on society, on the reasons for human actions ... That is why in Athens you will find whole short works or long fragments of the works of the authors that are part of the program: Plato, Descartes, Locke, Hume, Kant, JS Mill and Nietzsche. The texts of each period (ancient philosophy, modern philosophy and nineteenth-century philosophy) are preceded by a brief introduction, which is also a biobibliographic note of each author. And, at the end, the annexes give indications on the structure of the exercise and the general criteria of evaluation of the examination of History of the Philosophy of the Baccalaureate to the proofs of access to the universities (PAU) of Catalonia . We hope that the readings in this book will not only be a good help in preparing for the philosophy test of the selectivity exam, but that they will increase the critical capacity and the taste for reading the philosophical essay.
