A philosopher who knew how to criticize the metaphysical foundations of Western culture like no other, Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) is an essential figure in understanding the change between traditional morality and the philosophy that was to come. Ideas such as the will to power, the eternal return, the superman or the death of God mark his radical thought. The works collected in this volume, Thus Spoke Zarathustra (written between 1883 and 1885, although published in its entirety in 1892) and Beyond Good and Evil (1886), probably constitute the best synthesis of his philosophy. Both, each in their own way, expose the main lines of Nietzschean ideas with an unusual strength and direct style.
