Arquitectura moderna

Distinctive aesthetic and structural feature of the cities of the 20th century, whose profile has transformed, "modern architecture" was born and developed in much of the globe between 1910 and 1970. Its conception brought with it a promise of transformation, due to its apparent ability to transform dirty and crowded cities into large spaces of generous housing set in patterned landscapes. In this brief introduction, Adam Scharr exposes the development of this architecture, which has created very powerful cultural images based on innovations in construction techniques, as well as in the materials that identify it, such as steel, glass and concrete, and unavoidably taking into account the incorporation of facilities such as those for electric light and air conditioning, to end up wondering whether contemporary architecture is still fundamentally modern.
