With the War of the Silver March over, the combatants take a breather as a new story begins in the Legend of Drizzt series. The darkness that had descended on the North has vanished, and a new day dawns upon a victorious Mithril Hall. But as brilliant as it all seems on the surface, Drizzt and his companions know that what lurks beneath his feet remains steeped in evil and charged with unimaginable power. The dark elves of Menzoberranzan, and the powerful archmage Gromph among them, have not finished Drizzt yet. Consumed by their own power struggles and feeling cornered, the drow might be desperate enough to summon the daemonic forces that dwell deep within the Abyss, and wreak such a havoc that even the Underdark could never be prepared for.
