Aquí vivió Nefertiti
Chubb, Mary
Mary Chubb is known as "the accidental archaeologist" because, as she says at the beginning of these memoirs, what she wanted to be was a sculptor and she dedicated her studies to this vocation. However, a job as assistant secretary at the Society for the Exploration of Egypt, which began as a way to make ends meet, turned into a passion... and in 1930 he joined an expedition, led by the eminent Egyptologist John Pendlebury, to the site of Tell el-Amarna, the remains of Akhetaten, the ephemeral capital founded by the heretical pharaoh Akhenaten, husband of Nefertiti, father of Tutankhamun. Nefertiti lived here (1954) is the account of her experiences, "her ration of dust and heat", presided over by enthusiasm -with its counterpoint of British humor- and conducted with a very good narrative pulse.
