What does science say about the relationship between humans and dogs? Anthroology is the multidisciplinary science that studies how people relate to other animals. This book contributes to the dissemination of scientific knowledge available up to now on the human-dog relationship in a friendly and easily accessible way. Far from being a modern phenomenon, the human-dog relationship has a particularly long evolutionary history, with the dog being the first domesticated species and currently constituting the prototype of a companion animal.
