Antígona

Antígona

Sófocles

Creon, king of Thebes, has forbidden to bury the corpse of Polynices, who has taken up arms against him. Antigone, however, the sister of Polynices, disobeys him. And his act and the terrible consequences it entails are also the expression of personal sacrifice due to a conviction that, in this case, has the right to be in brotherly piety.
