At the beginning of the 20th century, a new species of vampire was born: the American. Skinner Sweet was the first of a lineage stronger than its European counterparts. And he's been fighting ever since. Pearl Jones was a young actress whom Skinner transformed into the second of his kind. In the early 1940s, Jones and her partner Henry are living quietly in Hawaii when the Morning Star's Vassals send the latter to a remote island that appears to harbor a nest of vampires. And it will not be the only action that the Vassals carry out in the middle of World War II, since the famous hunter Felicia Book enters Nazi territory in search of a hypothetical cure for vampirism. But the events of this volume do not stop at World War II. It also takes us to California in the year 1954, where a boy named Travis Kidd gets rid of all stereotypes by dedicating his life to killing vampires. And so it will continue until he locates the one who killed his family. It's a busy year as Pearl and Skinner team up for a very particular mission while all hell breaks loose in London.
