Based on the author's own childhood, Al Faro tells the story of the Ramsay family during their interwar visits to her summer home on the Scottish Isle of Skye. Considered one of the top works of 20th century literature and one of the hundred best novels in the English language, with which the genre took new directions, Al Faro was for Virginia Woolf her most valuable literary creation.
