Al Ándalus, puerta del pensamiento clásico en Europa

Few could have suspected that the fall of the classical world would come crashing down on the Mediterranean basin during a medieval period that lasted a thousand years. Latent struggles for power, migrations, new religious ideas and barbarian invasions did the rest. In this work, Ramón Sanchis analyzes the development of knowledge throughout the Middle Ages and in which Al Ándalus was key in the conservation and recovery of classical culture. It will delve into the events that marked the society and culture of the time, such as the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the evolution of early Christianity, gnosis, the Mystery Schools, the linking of ideas from the East and the West, Hermetic philosophy, the birth of Islam, the splendor of Hispano-Muslim culture, the Kabbalah, the development of the Carolingian Empire, the monastic and mendicant orders... from the fall of the classical world to the formation of Europe.
