Abuelo, te llevo a casa
Martin Isabel, Elvira
This book is born from the need to understand the historical moments that a person can go through throughout his life and that condition his behavior and decisions. The story is made up of two parallel dialogues without any meeting point between them. The first is carried out by David and his granddaughter. This one, shot at the end of the civil war, explains how was the time in which he lived from the time he received the call-up to do compulsory military service, until the civil war. He returned from the war in Morocco, lived off transhumance in the province of Segovia and farmed in Chozas de la Sierra, today Soto del Real, and finally committed himself to his people throughout the civil war. Despite being a humble person, he always showed a great interest in learning, in finding out about his time and political and social events. He lived through a time when some unions and political parties were concerned with training workers, teaching them, facilitating their access to culture, reading books and newspapers, learning about history and contemporary events. The second dialogue is carried out by two friends; the first of them talks about the post-war period while the second tries to clarify certain details of the life of his grandfather, a former soldier who has already passed away. The two friends will show us bland people whose experiences are extraordinary.
