A guerra era contra nós
VIII Premio de Poesía Manuel Lueiro Rey
Aira, Carlos da
The war against us is a metaphorical, poetic and mythical vision of humanity that is built as a compendium of premonitions, stories and legends that explains why, how, why of the past, present and future of our human condition. Why mankind still does not live free and happy after millennia of history? What if the only possible language was poetry and the only valid tool to narrate the metaphor? Carlos Da Aira's poems speak of us, of the community, of humanity, turning the word into a weapon of conscience, fleeing from the self, from egocentrism and betting on love as the first form of struggle, rebellion and violence.
