A cada cual, lo suyo
Sciascia, Leonardo
One boring afternoon in August, the pharmacist in a small Sicilian town receives an anonymous letter in which they threaten him with death and to which, however, he does not give importance. But, days later, the pharmacist is murdered in the mountains along with another respectable local, the doctor Roscio. While the rumors that are unleashed cause irreparable damage, and the police and the carabinieri beat the blind, only Laurana, a nondescript but cultured high school teacher, follows a lead that may lead to the murderer. She has discovered that the anonymous was made with words cut out of a conservative Catholic newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, since its logo, Unicuique suum -"A ciascuno il suo"- appears on the back of the clippings. And she launches to delve into the lives of his neighbors.
