Climbing, aside from being attractive, has something magical about it. It's like a return to the farthest ancestors, to the hominids that moved with all four limbs. When we climb to reach a peak we seem to be closer to the sky. Only by climbing do you reach most of the peaks of the central Pyrenees, including the mythical three thousand. In the Catalan Pyrenees there are fewer of them, and a good part of them are accessible on foot by normal itineraries, but there are other routes that require climbing even in sectors that are not high mountains, such as the Albera or the Alta Garrotxa, as well as the outer mountains of the Pre-Pyrenees.
