Vae Victus
Sánchez Piñol, Albert
The book begins on September 12, 1714, the day after the fall of Barcelona and shortly before Zuviría fled to North America, where he helped the Yam Indians in the war against the English settlers. After the American adventure we will return to Catalonia, but we will also go to London, Germany and even New Zealand. We will meet historical figures we already knew in Victus, such as the ambiguous Duke of Berwick, his staunch enemy Verboom or the admired General Villarroel, while we will discover new ones, such as the famous anti-Bourbon guerrilla Pere Joan Barceló -alias Carrasclet- or the English explorer James Cook.
