Una lección olvidada

Una lección olvidada

viajes por la historia de Europa

Altares, Guillermo

Europe's past confronts us with an immense melting pot, a huge mixture drawn with millions of threads, but it is also a project under construction. This book goes through different areas of Europe in search of the strata of its past, from a cave that the first European sapiens painted 36,000 years ago to the Balkan war in the 1990s; from the most heinous combats of the Great War to the unthinkable murder of Olof Palme; from the violent Rome of the Renaissance to the London of Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper. With this, we are forced to reflect on the fragility of the conquests of human culture and the temptation to forget the layers of pain and suffering on which our present and future lie.
