Una història per a tu

l'extraordinari relat de la princesa Ka'iulani de Hawaii

Tubella i Casadevall, Imma

Princess Kaiulani, who would have been Queen of Hawaii if the United States had not annexed the archipelago in the summer of 1898 against the will of the Hawaiians, tells her story now that she has lost everything but gained the freedom to be herself. Since she was a child she has to face the loss of people she loves: her mother, her sister, her beloved uncle and her love, platonic or not, Robert Louis Stevenson. He will also have to face the collapse of his country that he defended so energetically, and the loss of his future. Kaiulani was not a fairy tale princess, she was a real woman with desires, frustrations, anger, hopes and dreams who ultimately chose not to take the easy path of a golden exile in Europe and returned to the islands to be in the beside his people in difficult times.
