Una casa propia

Deborah Levy imagines a house in a warm latitude, near a lake or the sea. There is a fireplace and a butler who attends to her wishes, even to argue. But Levy is actually in London, she doesn't have money to build the home she imagines, her apartment is tiny and the closest thing to a garden in her house is a banana tree to which she gives the care that her daughters they no longer need her.
