Un verano italiano

Un verano italiano

Serle, Rebecca

When Katy's mother dies, Katy is devastated. Carol was not only her mother, but her best friend and the first person she could turn to whenever she needed it. And now, when Katy needs her most, she's gone. To make matters worse, she approaches the trip that mother and daughter had so excitedly planned: two weeks in Positano, the place where Carol spent the summer before meeting Katy's father. She has been waiting for him for years, and now she must embark on the adventure alone. But as soon as she sets foot on the Amalfi Coast, Katy begins to feel the spirit of her mother. Buoyed by the stunning waters, the beautiful cliffs, the charming neighbors and, of course, the delicious food, Katy feels herself slowly coming back to life. And then Carol appears... Flesh and blood, healthy, sun-tanned and only thirty years old. Katy doesn't understand what's going on, she can only focus on the fact that she has somehow, impossibly, gotten her mother back. Over the course of a summer in Italy, Katy will get to know Carol, but not as her mother, but as the young woman who preceded her. However, she is not exactly who Katy imagined she was, and soon, Katy must reconcile her mother who knew everything with the young woman who still knows nothing.
