John Rebus has been in court countless times, but this is the first time he has sat in the dock. Accustomed for decades to breaking the rules to enforce the law, he may now have gone too far. But how did it get to this situation? Before all this broke out, Inspector Siobhan Clarke was immersed in a disturbing case surrounding a shady police officer, who claimed to have compromising information related to the police station where he works, famous for its corruption.
