Two people who apparently shouldn't be together discover that their lives have been affected by the same event more than ten years ago. The night before she is to start her graduate school, Rachel runs into her best friend's cheating ex at a bar and verbally attacks him. Her only mistake is that the guy in question she just yelled at -a pretty hot guy, by the way- turns out not to be her best friend's ex. The next morning, as she is late for her first day as a college assistant in graduate school, she realizes that her new boss, the professor, is the hot guy from the night before. Caine West is very strict when it comes to relationships with his students or his assistants. He has never slept with any of them, until he meets Rachel.
