The Queen of Flesh and Fire has become the Ancient One of Blood and Bone, the true Ancient One of Life and Death. And the battle that Casteel, Poppy and their allies have been fighting has only just begun. The gods are awakening throughout Iliseeum and in the mortal world, preparing for the coming war. Cas must face a very real possibility: the extreme and unexpected consequences of what Poppy is becoming could take her away from him. However, Cas receives some advice that he plans to hold on to while he waits for her beloved's precious eyes to open again: "Talk to her." So he does that. He reminds Poppy of how their journey together began and, in the process, reveals things about himself that only Kieran knows. However, it is impossible to know what Poppy will find when she wakes up and to what extent the world and Cas will have changed when he does.
