Trabajo social, una profesión para contar

Trabajo social, una profesión para contar

once relatos en primera persona

Benavent, Enric (ed.)
Requena, Elena (ed.)

Social Work is a profession and an academic discipline with a long history, but still quite unknown. This book aims to offer a fresh vision, in the first person, of what Social Work is today through 11 stories. The visions of social work presented in this book bring us closer to the profession from very different fields. It is, without a doubt, another of the characteristics of the profession: its versatility. Reading the whole invites us to discover a common thread that runs through all of them and in turn endless nuances that are specific to each of the professional experiences. We are going to learn about the experiences of professionals who work in very different contexts: prisons, hospitals, basic social services, pediatric palliative care, mental health, homeless people, drug addiction, adoptions, immigration, the elderly, childhood and family. In all of them we find the common denominator of the universal rights of people and professional accompaniment at critical moments in the life trajectory of individuals, groups, and communities.
