A group of young friends, of Trotskyist orientation, decide to organize a mad operation: travel back in time to kill Ramón Mercader, the historical executioner of their venerated Russian politician. One of them, Gordo Felipe, a computer genius, is the cornerstone of the project that involves a computer, period clothing, false documents and a detailed analysis of history, centered on August 1940 in Coyoacán, in the city from Mexico, when the murder occurs.
