As we were rigorously and entertainingly tells a story of human evolution, spanning several million years and combining textual and visual information, because, as the author says, how important it is to see each other's faces! Each chapter begins with a face, a hyper-realistic reconstruction of fourteen members of the human genealogy plus Charles Darwin, the homo sapiens who began this long path of discovery of our origins. Looking into the eyes of our remote (and not so remote) ancestors is the best way to gain insight into their lifestyle, their origins, their relationships, their migrations, and discover how many things we share with them: from the fear of death, even the obsession to protect the young and the need to feed and shelter from the cold.
