CERN, Geneva, 2021. At the world's largest particle accelerator, eccentric Herman Hahn leads an experiment that could change our conception of the universe. After several months without finding results, he will have to coordinate a team of top-level scientists, including the young Ian Blom, a brilliant physicist who leaves Paris without his girlfriend Corina to join the project. Under great media pressure and scrutiny from the scientific community, Ian and Herman soon realize that they are not the only ones with access to the accelerator. Someone is sabotaging the experiment, and the team will have to grapple with conclusions that science can explain but logic cannot. The countdown, or forward, has begun.
