Something

XXVI Premi Fundació Bancaixa de Narrativa Juvenil

Santaeulàlia, J. N.

The 1970s, youth, love, guitar lessons, the Beatles... a story from the 1970s that any young person today could identify with. Pol lives in Banyoles in 1970, the year the Beatles broke up. He likes to cover the group's songs, such as George Harrison's "Something". "Something in the way he moves" catches his attention as soon as he sees Júlia, a girl who will spend the summer in Banyoles and to whom he will have the opportunity to give guitar lessons. Although Pol will fall in love with her, it will be difficult for him to reveal his feelings, while his friend Roger will dare to go a little further. Everything will be observed, from a privileged position, by the singular narrator of the novel: Zero, Pol's cat.
