Sombras verdes, ballena blanca

Sombras verdes, ballena blanca

Bradbury, Ray

In 1953, Ray Bradbury, then a relatively unknown writer, was called to Ireland to write the screenplay for Moby Dick, a film by the now famous director John Huston. Bradbury spent seven months in Ireland and from this experience grew some notable stories such as "The Anthem Race" and "The Pauper on O'Connell Bridge". In Green Shadows, White Whale Bradbury blends these and other episodes into one big tableau and vividly tells the whole story: the adventures of the astonished young man (part Bradbury himself) who confronts the extraordinary director, wrestles with the mythical beast, and -with the enthusiastic help from the patrons of Finn's tavern- gets to know the mysterious secrets of the Irish.
