"La verdad ignorada"
homoerotismo masculino y literatura en España (1890-1936)
Peral Vega, Emilio
"La verdad ignorada: homoerotismo masculino y literatura en España (1890-1936)" addresses the issue of desire between men, through the philological analysis of the texts of various authors, of the various expressive modes assumed by them to "reveal" the male homoerotic drive: Jacinto Benavente, pioneer in the assimilation of the "decadent" creed to explore erotic love between equals; the most frivolous version of homoeroticism represented in the novels of Hoyos and Vinent, Retana and Hernández Catá; two fundamental pillars of this literature, Federico García Lorca and Luis Cernuda, and two very different ways of undressing before the mirror of the word; the very explicit (and unknown) poetry of a former personal friend of Lorca: Eduardo Blanco-Amor.
