Quédate este día y esta noche conmigo
Gopegui, Belén
This is the story of Mateo and Olga, and it is a job application that has Google as a recipient. It is also the confession of who has to assess the proposal. Mateo, interested in robots, is obsessed with finding out if merit should be banished from human relations. Olga, a retired mathematician and businesswoman, believes that statistical models are narratives and that probability is a more accurate way of naming the act of being free. It could be a love story to the extent that the encounter, the dialogue and the desire to hear the voice of the other build a common story. And because, as in love stories, that encounter harbors the disagreement of two different ways of being and being in the world. Mateo has his life ahead of him and refuses to accept that this life cannot be written from freedom. Olga, well beyond the middle of the road, is not afraid of relegating the self to the bottom of a drawer or associating her body with a society of the mind. They are united by the same will to understand the behavior of reality and to feel what happens when a machine realizes that it is a machine. A vehement Dante and a Beatrice about to leave travel through a space that is both hell and paradise.
