The protagonist of this story lives in a village only inhabited by dogs and geckos. All the nearby towns have been emptied, all the land seems barren. In his, or in what is left of it, grows a flower that reminds him of better times. That she brings back the hubbub of the town and the fertility of the fields. Keeping that flower alive is all she wants.
