Poesía
Boye, Karin
Boye's poetry was described, already in the author's lifetime, as cold and abstract. This qualification is still strange in the case of a writer whose source of inspiration had always been writers who advocated a battle against modern rationalism and sought to investigate irrational inner forces: Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Freud, the surrealists; her own life was shaken by very intense psychic and spiritual shocks. Boye's poetry is surprising for its existential content, the search for meaning, sometimes on a religious level and others on a clearly secular level; that makes it very different from the work of other contemporary writers of his. The presence of an internal split is very common in her poems, produced by some internal conflict, moral or spiritual. The translation contains the four books of poems published in life by Karin Boye and the posthumous book 'The seven deadly sins and other posthumous poems', published a few months after her death.
