Pasiones carnales

los amores de los reyes que cambiaron la Historia de España

Robles, Marta

The backroom of the history of Spain is full of juicy episodes, full of carnal passions, which altered the course of events or changed them completely without being officially recognized. Marta Robles has reviewed our history in search of all those amorous and sexual adventures that kings, queens, presidents and other powerful starred: from Rodrigo, the last Visigothic king, to Alfonso XIII, passing through the other representatives of the Astur, Burgundian dynasties, Trastamara, Habsburg and Bourbon. The result shows that, far from the puritanism of official history, its protagonists -accompanied by their advisers, valid, ministers, courtiers, wives, concubines and legitimate or illegitimate children- not only battled and ruled, but also enjoyed and had a lot of fun more than the rest of the mortals. And also that all of them, like those without power or wealth, were vulnerable to love and the irrepressible outbursts of the flesh. A book full of surprises and intimate curiosities -sometimes risque-, often interpreted by unsuspected characters.
