Víctor Amela has interviewed for years in his section "La contra" in La Vanguardia the survivors of the fifth of the bottle, those young people born in 1920 who were called to the front to fight in the last great battle of the civil war. They were children of just eighteen who abandoned everything to fight in the trenches on the front of the Ebro where many of them would die.
