Elvira, Swiv's grandmother, has been fighting all her life. Raised in a strict religious community, she had to fight against those who wanted to take away her independence and her desire to get ahead. Now, in the final stretch of her life, she must fight against the passage of time, the ailments and adversities that affect her family. Her daughter, a foul-mouthed actress with a mercurial temperament, faces the third trimester of her pregnancy as she tries to deal with a bitter past and present. Swiv, her granddaughter, is a nine-year-old girl with a fascinating inner world, but who has just been expelled from school for getting into fights. In the improvised school they set up at home, Elvira sets out to teach her granddaughter that there are different ways to fight and that the most important thing is not to let the fire that burns inside her go out.
