Nenúfares que brillan en aguas tristes

Nenúfares que brillan en aguas tristes

Gil, Bárbara

During her thirteenth birthday party, Irina, daughter of the Galician textile industry magnate Ernesto Ferreira, meets a stranger on the beach who gives her a gift: an amulet capable of fulfilling any wish. Years later, she discovers that this amulet is the key to uncovering a jealously guarded old family secret. Following this lead, Irina and Sagor, her stepbrother, decide to accompany Ernesto on a business trip to Bangladesh. There they will have the help of Faisal, a young Bengali for whom the young woman begins to feel an irresistible attraction. Her journey will take her to know the harsh reality of textile factory workers, she will uncover dark secrets from her past and put her life in danger. However, like the water lilies that are born in stagnant waters, beyond the risk and poverty of Bangladesh, Irina will discover the passion of forbidden love in a place full of magic and beauty.
