Nada que decir
XIX Premio Tusquets Editores de Novela 2023
Hidalgo, Silvia
A woman waits inside a car for her ex-husband to pick up their daughter, who is crying in the back seat. While the rain falls and the figures are blurred illuminated by the turn signals, she is attentive to her cell phone and a date with a stranger. Like a disoriented and furious animal, she lets herself be carried away by her raw, open desire, in which motherhood, family, and work take a secondary place. She wants to escape from the mirages of a false happiness, but she finds herself facing the abyss of an unhealthy, deranged relationship with a director of her ex-husband's company, a "tumor man". Nothing to say confirms Silvia Hidalgo as our Marguerite Duras: disturbing scenes, unspeakable emotions and a smooth and brilliant writing, which leaves scratches.
