Moral barroca

Moral barroca

pasado y presente de una gran soledad

Bilbeny, Norbert

We live in a new baroque age: another period of lights and shadows, wit and lies, illusionism and anxiety. As then, the world is a great theater, and the individual, a solitary being faced with uncertainty. Loneliness as choice and destiny. This book focuses, firstly, on the morality of the Spain of the so-called Golden Age, and secondly on that of our time in general, in many aspects coinciding with that of the former: individualism and posturing; lack of social imagination and submission to the established order; delivery to virtual reality and pre-eminence of fear. And, in sight, another time of imperial orthodoxies, social inequality and collective pessimism. After the crises with which the 21st century has opened, nothing is what was thought. Meanwhile, life passes as if time had stopped: without hope for the future or nostalgia for the past. Deciding alone, in uncertainty.
