Mis días con los Kopp
Rubert, Xita
In her late teens, Virginia travels with her father north to join the Kopps. When the meeting with his English friends promises a peaceful vacation, the star appearance of an unexpected guest will truncate all his plans: Bertrand is a sculptor and performer, in all probability suffers from some mental disorder, and is obsessed with the idea that "sculptures are ephemeral". Visionary and insane, wrapped in an aura of charisma and danger, Bertrand sows confusion in Virginia's life, which she ends up allowing herself to be dragged into ambiguous, unexplored territory. In her first novel, Xita Rubert writes with the mysterious wisdom that emerges from chaos to wonder if growing up is entering a fiction with no return. My days with the Kopps is a suggestive 21st century initiation novel that intelligently deals with illness, social dissimulation and helplessness. A very unique story that heralds the arrival of a new narrator with a powerful voice full of nuances.
