Minotauro

Minotauro

Peillen, Txomin

In this novel, Peillen weaves what happened to the pedophile father's incest in the Basque Country for centuries. He attributes this half-legend to a current lineage, which is why he places the narrative in a South American town, with invented place names, even though such events take place all over the world and capture literary traditions from around the world. Thus, the rape of an eleven-year-old girl is brought to the reader's attention, but especially the steep path that the girl will have to take to rebuild herself after the horrific attack, and the importance of the friendship between the two girls. Peillen has written a moral novel, using raw materials that are not at all comfortable for a man, and showing the lessons that men can learn from this dialectic of disintegration / reconstruction.
