Mika en la vida real

At thirty-five years old, Mika's life is quite similar to a Jenga tower about to collapse. Her last relationship ended badly. Her roommate and best friend may be a hoarder. She does nothing but disappoint her traditional Japanese parents. And she just got fired from another job where she had no future. However, everything changes when she receives a call from Penny, the daughter she gave up for adoption sixteen years ago. Deep down, Mika wants to be a woman and a mother that Penny can look up to. Confronted with her own mistakes, she decides to gloss over the truth of her life a bit, but what starts out as a little white lie soon spirals out of control into a completely false existence. One in which Mika is a mature, focused and successful woman both at work and in love. Despite being aware that all the details are a lie, what she shares with her daughter is most real: her dreams, hopes, flaws, and her Japanese heritage. Will Mika be able to keep everything? With love, her daughter, and the life she's always wanted? Or will all her lies end up coming to light? Inevitably, Mika will be forced to face the truth about herself, her family, and her past, and she will have to answer one big question: "Who is Mika in real life?"
