Los señores del tiempo
García Sáenz, Eva
Vitoria, 2019. The Lords of Time, an epic historical novel set in the Middle Ages, is published with great success under a mysterious pseudonym: Diego Veilaz. Victoria, 1192. Diago Vela, the legendary count Don Vela, returns to his town after two years on a dangerous mission entrusted by King Sancho VI the Wise of Navarre and finds his brother Nagorno married to his fiancée, the noble and intriguing Onneca of Maestu. Unai López de Ayala, Kraken, faces some puzzling deaths that follow a medieval modus operandi. They are identical to the murders described in the novel The Lords of Time: a poisoning with the "Spanish fly" -medieval Viagra-, some victims sandwiched together as was done in the past in the "vow of darkness" and an "incubation", which consisted in throwing into the river a prisoner locked in a barrel together with a rooster, a dog, a cat and a viper. The investigations will lead Kraken to the lord of the Nograro tower, a fortified tower-house inhabited continuously for a thousand years by the firstborn male. But the reverse of so much nobility is the tendency of the lords of the tower to suffer from multiple identity disorder, a detail that will drag Estíbaliz to live a risky love story.
